I bought a used 2017 Nissan Titan XD diesel and after about 35k miles, the engine failed. Took it to Reed Nissan in Clermont, who first said I needed a $32k new engine... Nissan covered 60%. Then they changed their story, saying only injector repairs were needed for $10k, but Nissan claimed I rejected their offer. After proving otherwise, goodwill was reinstated, but months later the truck still isnt fixed due to blown turbos and a bad fuel pump. The dealer's poor handling, misdiagnosis and endless delays have been a total nightmare... and since I bought it used, I don't qualify for lemon laws or a class-action suit.

Therefore heres my advice: always get everything in writing, push the manufacturer hard, and don't trust the dealer to handle things smoothly.

Did you ever consider getting a third-party inspection or taking it to a different dealership after the initial misdiagnosis and delays?

Wow, I'm sorry that's an absolute nightmare you've been through!
Getting everything in writing is really critical for holding anyone accountable, and relentlessly pushing the manufacturer directly is often the only way to get real traction when a dealer drops the ball!
I hope you finally get your truck back on the road soon.

Yikes, that sounds exhausting. sorry you're going through it! As someone just learning about used diesel trucks, is this kind of engine failure common in Titans?
