My buddy had an issue with his 2017 Titan SV during his morning drive. At around 60-65 MPH, his RPMs were unusually high, and after stopping briefly, the transmission light came on. It seemed stuck in 3rd gear and wouldn't shift higher. Even attempting to manually move it to 6th reverted back to Drive. He had to limp home at 50 MPH, hovering around 3,500 RPM. The truck has 85K miles, and so far, no grinding or slipping noises. Any advice to get him back on the road? Let's help him figure it out

Hmm. Try to unplug the battery for a little while then put it back on I guess that's going to do a temporary fix. I'm not sure if it's the transmission already even if that's the light that's on? Sometimes it's really messy and you can't get a proper diagnosis unless you get your Titan scanned. :) If you have a code reader yourself, do use it for this situation!

Thanks for the advice! We ended up resolving by unplugging the battery and giving it a quick reset which got it back on the road temporarily. A proper scan also helped pinpoint the problem. We've got it sorted out now @Ken G.
