Clogged air in coolant?

Bought a used Nissan Titan with some issues, didn't mind at all since I got a pretty sweet deal and I love fixing cars. Though this issue wasn't mentioned, but oh well. So what happens is that when driving uphill the car seems to overheat, I feel it most on the steering wheel. I figured its within the air system, I feel like If I can get it to purge the air off then potentially this will all get fixed. So how do I do this? Tried to run an incline without the cap of the reservoir but no air released at all

1) park with the front end elevated 2) turn the heater on full blast and 3) run the engine with the radiator cap off. If air bubbles don't escape, check for a stuck thermostat or clogged radiator. Let me know if you already tried these steps!

Check if the radiator fan's kicking on when the engine heats up, that could be a sign of a bigger cooling system issue

Oh, for sure, I'm on board with that approach.

Has the OP had a chance to try those steps yet? Curious if they noticed any odd bubbling or funky coolant behavior while it was running.

Try using a spill-free funnel and position the nost of the truck higher than the rest. Then you can also try to let it idle with the heater blasting. I think that could work but if not, then maye reach out to the dealer asap.
