Has anyone swapped a CC33 rear axle with a locking diff for a CC33 without a locking diff? I'm considering this and would like to know if the housings are identical. Additionally, if the housings are the same, can I transfer the locking differential components from my current axle into the new one?

I'm 99% sure that you can, just make sure the diff ratio is the same. 4wd with different gear ratios is a recipe for disaster

May I know what's the reason for the swap?
From what I've seen, the housing for the locking diff has different internal machining to accommodate the locker mechanism and the actuator. so the housings are not identical.
It think it's better to just find a replacement locker unit for your existing axle if that's what you're trying to do.
Trying to swap the internals over would be a huge headache, and likely wouldn't work without some serious fabrication.

I heard, the housings are the same. So, you can move the locking differential parts over as long as both axles are CC33 spec, just make sure to check that the gear ratios and splines match before you do the swap
